If you’re considering King’s you’re probably wondering what it is like to live here—in New York City. I considered a lot of great colleges, but there is one main reason why I chose The King’s College, and that is New York City.
While other colleges boast a traditional campus, hundreds of student organizations and a school football team, King’s is different. King’s offered me the experience to be part of a huge, exciting city that offers plenty of opportunity and adventure unlike anywhere else.
I have learned how to navigate the subway system, buy groceries in bustling Midtown, and manage a busy schedule just like every New Yorker. Living in New York City has been a valuable education in itself.
I have had the opportunity to volunteer with various organizations that interest me, explore world renowned museums like the Museum of Modern Art (just blocks away from my student housing apartment) for assignments, and even work backstage at New York Fashion Week (ladies, there is nothing like it)!
Living here has also been a ton of fun—there are so many great shows, restaurants and festivals to discover. New York City is more than just an urban space. It is the center of finance, art, media, and on and on.
It is true that living in a high-performing culture definitely has its challenges, but I know it has made me a better and stronger person. Surrounded by so much influence and culture continues to inspire me every day. There is a buzz in the air unlike any other city (or college campus) that I have visited.
And I’m truly thankful that King’s exists so I can live in one of the world’s greatest cities while pursuing my college education.
King’s offered me the experience to be part of a huge, exciting city that offers plenty of opportunity and adventure unlike anywhere else.
